Wanderlust Wonders with Stephanie Sandleben, a New York City-based yoga intructor.
What does Wanderlust mean to you?
For me Wanderlust is an opportunity to connect with fellow practitioners who embrace the celebratory nature of life.
What do you dig most about the combination of yoga and music?
I've practiced and taught with the accompaniment of live music--and both experiences have been deeply profound. What I dig most about the combination is how they feed each other and provide direct access into the emotional body. For me the marriage of the two penetrates right into the heart of the practice.
What gets you excited about this year's festival?
Being in the mountains, teaching, dancing, and practicing.
Three favorite things in the world right now?
The long overdue arrival of spring in New York City, spending time with friends and family, and dark chocolate with fleur de sel.
Something your students might not know about you?
My first tattoo at the age 19 was a Superman emblem on fire (which was quickly covered up by the Sufi symbol of heart and wings).
What's your personal mantra?
There's not enough time to do everything we want to do in life, but there's just enough time to do the most important things.
